Irrigation Australia's 2009 National Conference will be held in Swan Hill, Victoria from 18-20 October 2009 with post-conference tours on 21 October.

The only conference event that involves the entire value chain of the irrigation industry, it is a unique opportunity for all sectors of the industry to interact, exchange information and hear about the latest developments in the industry. From irrigators to water supply authorities, from system designers to suppliers, from manufacturers to researchers, they will all be there. There is a full program with concurrent streams to ensure all interests are fully covered.
The response to the call for papers showed tremendous interest with 125 abstracts received. The conference program has now been developed and can be viewed in the Registration Brochure. There will be two post conference tours, one to the North of Swan Hill, the other to the South.
The preliminary program for the northern tour includes: pipelining of channels; pump and telemetry set ups; best practice irrigation management on an almond property; dam loss mitigation; fish farming in an irrigation supply dam; wine tasting; and citrus and avocado fertigation.
The southern tour preliminary program includes: large corporate farm visit; salt disposal; Flo Lab; dairy irrigation; channel structures; and meters. The final tour programs will be advised in the registration brochure.
A tremendous social program, including one for partners has also been organised to ensure plenty of time to relax and network.
