WORKSHOPS

Workshop 7

Subsurface Drip on Turf

The most recent and prolonged drought puts increased pressure on our water resources.  Subsurface irrigation of turf is a fairly recent technology but can, in some instances, be a highly efficient means of using limited resources in applying water directly to the rootzone.  This workshop will explore experiences in the science, the manufacturing, the installation and the operation of subsurface irrigation of turf.

Workshop 7

FORUMS

Forum 3

Water Restrictions

For Council and Public sports grounds managers, staff associated with sports ground allocations to clubs, open space management, and/or associated activities.  Stage 3a Water Restrictions were introduced in Melbourne on 1 April 2007 and were planned to remain in place until at least 30 June 2008.  In this session, City West Water, South East Water, Western Water and Yarra Valley Water will provide you with the latest information on water restrictions and the possibilities for after 30 June 2008.  There will be a questions and answers session at the end.

Forum 4

Groundwater

Groundwater definitions, governance and management practices for sharing a precious resource; understanding availability, recharge, and recovery; dealing with dependant ecosystems and groudwater-surface water interconnectivity are all challenges facing groundwater users and managers.

Come to this forum and hear how the assessment of groundwater is taking place, how users are dealing with and reacting to those assessments and have some input into how a national action plan on groundwater is being implemented in Australia.
