Online learning for CIM and CIAg

Online course enrolments now open for
Certified Irrigation Agronomist and Certified Irrigation Manager

Irrigation Australia Limited and River Murray Training (RMT) Pty Ltd are pleased to now offer online learning for the skill sets required for Certified Irrigation Agronomist and Certified Irrigation Manager.

Plan now for your next career move!
Gain competency in a skill set, and if and when you have three years practical experience you will be eligible to apply to Irrigation Australia for certification in the relevant credential*.

How does online learning happen?
Easy! Once you enrol you will receive a Study Guide that provides all the information you need about the online classroom, how to use the RMT Irrigation e-Learning Centre and what will be required of you to successfully complete the training.

You are not left to work alone, instead you can join a virtual classroom. At scheduled session times you join other participants and the module Facilitator in a live online classroom for presentations and discussions using your computer and a headset and microphone.

The first session will be an orientation in the use of online facilities. Between training sessions there are individual and group activities to complete through the RMT Irrigation e-Learning Centre as well as workplace-related application of skills.

What equipment and resources you will require?
  • Computer, printer and head set/microphone
  • Reliable internet access (while dial-up is adequate, ADSL or broadband speed is an advantage)
  • Work-related context. Access to irrigation work situations will be an advantage, as most competencies have a practical component.

When does it start? When do you need to be online?
The program will commence with the first online session on Thursday March 6 at 3.30pm EST (daylight saving time). Subsequent sessions will also be held at that time of day.

Recognition of skills
On completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment listing successfully completed competencies. Assessment will be made on evidence provided through a combination of methods including case studies, problem solving activities and work-related projects negotiated to fit with student’s work and study situation.
